Hey y-all, I have found 13 of the lost
Marines of 1st Platoon so far. To get back in touch with
them, drop me a line. The Marines found so far include: Aldrige,
Huggins, Kelly, Malone, Mitchell, Neel, Sell, Vergara, Wenger,
Woessner, Young, Sergiooooo Zuniga. I also have Dave Taylor
(3rd?) and Dave Younglove (PH).

access to other sites, so if you were from an earlier / later
time and would like me to try to find those you spent time at the
Loch with, send me a note and I will do my best to find them on

Hoorah to all the WestLoch Warriors. Attention all Westloch Marines that served during the Hurricane Iniki operation. Some Of you may be aware that a Humanatarian Medal Was Awarded for this Operation A Almar was released on it and several Marines where left off. If you went to Kaui or helped in the clean up you should have been awarded this medal. Contact me for more info on this I have been trying now for over a year to get this put on my 214.

Third Platoon '91 till shutdown. I roomed with Mike Benson, Rusty Garrison, and Ty Lewis. I have an original picture of third platoon by the sign with names (have to take the frame off to see it). I also have the license plate off the company truck hanging in my den. I was one of the last 10 Marines sent to Pearl Harbor Guard Company when West Loch was shut down. I also know Mike Benson who painted the warrior picture that was on the deck by the company entrance. I also have a full picture of the whole company on the dock with an LST? in the background. I have a lot of pictures including a trip to Maui to do a hump inside Mount Haleakala.

Never thought I'd see the name Karl Kucera again. Any one else from our era remember the Algoroba(sp?) loop stories. They issued me Singlton's rifle for my first guard mount. Man that place seems a lifetime away.

Lcpl Kirk & Mark Fuqua served Aug.1990 to Aug. 1992. We both was in 3rd plt. Mark roomed with John Cadman, Kevin White & Smitty. I roomed with Rob Sanchez, Curtis Brennan, and at one time w/ my brother. We both live back in Illinois now . If anyone knew Cpl Tim Megginson he works the state prison here in town with Mark. I have been told that the place was closed down. It broke my heart to actually see it in writing from so many Marines that were stationed there. I started as a Pfc. in 1985 and left as a Cpl. in 1988. I see Kucera, McClelland, Flood, have dropped a line, I remember all of them, really good Marines. Has anyone heard from Mike Hernandez? was there the same time frame as myself. I stay in touch with Kim Oehler, and Steve Kidwell. Would like to hear from anyone, drop me a line if you want .

I arrived at 2nd Guard Co., NAD West Loch on 1Mar42 and shipped back to the states on 1May44. Thirty day leave and then to Camp Lejeune, N.C, I would like to contact any Marine who served there on the above dates, or shortly thereafter when the ammunition barges/ships exploded off shore in the bay. I have located a few I served with but am looking for Shelby B. Hood Jr., Richard Burge, Joseph Schmidt, John Anderson, George T. Cochran and many others.

I was the armorer, supply, and office clerk at west loch, there was 65 M14s, 22 45s and one M60. I have several pictures of the base then. Looking for "Gunny" and Mark Pitcher ans Tony. I am sorry to hear the old base is closed.
