My name is Doyle L. Shields I served at the MB from 1974 to 1976. I arrived as a L/CPL and recieved meritorius Cpl & Sgt. I was NCOIC of the prisoner Escort Unit during 1975 we covered the 8th Naval District in picking up prisoners for the Corp. The Barracks had approx: 150 Marines stationed there we had a starboard and port duty section. The Barracks was closed in 1977 and the base is now under the Armys control. I recently went back to the base and the Barracks and guard post are still there and look the same.

Served at McAlester from 1974 to 1976 with both Guard and Escort Unit. Would like to hear from any other Marines stationed there.
