Promoted to L/Cpl on 16 May, 1967 at Marine Barracks, NAS Jacksonville, Fla.  Served there in '66/'67, before getting orders for Nam.  Would like to hear from anyone who served with me,on the Main Gate-Security area w/detex clock-Honor Guard-Color guard-brig-basketball team-softball team-traffic control-all out drinking fests, etc, etc.  They were the greatest of times.  Semper Fi to all of you at any of the Marine Barracks.  They are the showpieces of the Corps.  Do I have to say. ."They were"?  "Sic transit gloria mundi"

I was stationed at NAS Jax  from 1972 to 1974.  Promoted to Sgt there and discharged from there.  Would like to hear from anyone who may have been there at that time.  Name is Sgt. Landon Melton.   The barracks was located just inside the main gate on the corner.  Any one have any pics from that period.
